February 2008
Dear Friends,
We are past the halfway point for this mini-furlough! We have visited 7 out of the 12 scheduled churches. What a great joy it has been for us to give a report of the ministry and to renew friendships in our supporting churches. Two of our scheduled meetings are in "new" churches to us. We received word from two supporting churches that were able to give generous increases so our financial need now stands at $280 per month.
What a blessing to spend some time with our family. Here is a picture of us with John and Juliet.
We had a late Christmas with Jan's mother and sister in the St. Louis area. John and Juliet came to St. Louis for a few days; then we went to Minneapolis to visit them. It was so nice to visit the church and Christian school where they minister. We have yet to visit Stephen's family in Pennsylvania. A Wivell cousins' reunion is planned for our time there later this month.
Our return flight to Melbourne is on March 11. First semester classes begin on April 8. There is a new full-time student enrolled. Jonathan is a second generation student as his mother is a VBBC graduate. Debby was one of Stephen's best students in Greek class. She has taught him Greek in their home-school. How exciting for Stephen to get a more advanced Beginning Greek student.
Be in prayer as we settle back in to the routine of ministry in Australia. The VBBC Committee of Management has some challenges and important decisions to make this year. Great wisdom will be needed.
