Lighthouse Ministries Names Education Center
in Honor of George W. Jenkins
(Lakeland, Florida – September 20, 2006) – Lighthouse Ministries names their education center The George W. Jenkins Center of Learning.
Lighthouse Ministries will hold a naming ceremony Friday, Oct. 6 at 1 p.m. in the lobby of the Jay & Eloise Troxel Family Life Center at 215 E. Magnolia St in downtown Lakeland. Representatives from the George W. Jenkins Fund and the Community Foundation of Greater Lakeland will be present.
The education center is located in the east wing of the Troxel Family Life Center and includes the Lighthouse Adult Learning and Career Center and Lighthouse Community Preschool. The education center’s new name will honor George W. Jenkins and his family for their support of Lighthouse Ministries throughout the years.
Since opening in 2003, Lighthouse Adult Learning and Career Center has served 144 men and women and Lighthouse Community Preschool has served 155 resident children.
